I cant help but be amused at this paragraph found in this article at Andriasang.com, the article talks about a Korean interview with Square Enix staff. A roundtable interview session with FFXIII director Motomu Toriyama, FFXIII producer Yoshinori Kitase, and Square Enix chief Twitter person Shinji Hashimoto.
Here is a quote on the possibility of FF7 Remake:
To make FFXIII at this level of quality, it took us 3 to 4 years. If we were to make FFVII in the same style of FFXIII, it would take 10 times as long, so it would be difficult to take it up immediately. However, we always keep in mind how often this is requested.
Hell yeah! 30-40 years time baby and it is an indirect telling how Final Fantasy XIII fares in par with FFVII on the overall.
I won’t place major bets on a remake of FF VII but if it does come, it will be a Aerith’s miracle of sorts.
Are you hoping on a remake?
I’m completely hoping on a remake, but for the moment I stumbled across which, although may appear to be outdated, is pretty goddamn cool since they show you how to apply mods. Best we can do, graphical improvements are reasonable :D
Personally I’d rather just play the original.
square really needs some ground breaking improvements on there production so we may see FFVII remake in 1 year production time I’m wishing hard for this XD
no remake… I rather the legend get to be preserved rather than getting ruined.
I think Square should not go for the obvious cash-in by answering the fans’ requests. Rather, they should concentrate on making a game that dwarfs what previous FFs were. And if it doesn’t have the words Final Fantasy in it’s title, all the better. We can’t stay in the same FF-Universe playground forever. How long before chocobos, cactuars and moggles become mere commonplace? IMO, we’re pretty much there already.
think about how many towns was in FF7 alone and you can imagine what it would take for a complete remake without leaving out content
midgar with its multiple sectors reactors and side areas is at least the size of 6 cities in modern games.Junon had two towns and underwater reactor, and most other twon had caves or dungeons that would all have to be redone with modern graphics to make a game with the same content as the original FF7
FF7 also had at least 3 times as many summons and enemy monsters as most games plus a load of necessary characters to make a game that would even be closely related to final fantasy 7 with the same story, summons items and areas as the original
