Comic Fiesta (CF), Malaysia’s largest ACG event, is a yearly affair that began with a big bang and never seems to stop.
From the epic crowd that was already gathering at the entrance on the first day, to the ever-funny stage performances and competitions, CF is something that cannot be missed. And it is not difficult to see why.
Started in 2002, CF is an event that catered to the different segments of the ACG community. From artworks, to doujins, to games, to cosplay and figurines, there is something for everyone.
The event became so popular that even the local Singaporean cosplayers/artists (and to a certain extent, photographers) make an annual trip up north, just to experience the fun-filled joy of CF. For myself, this would be my 5th time attending the event, having attended CF at three different locations over the years.
Its current location, Sunway Pyramid, seems to be barely able to cope with the ever growing number of attendees (last year doesn’t feel that crowded). However, being conveniently located near hotels and restaurants there are no lacking of amenities. I personally like the place due to it being air-conditioned, although the lighting for photography can be a challenge.
Without any further ado, here are some of the photos taken during the epic event. I am amazed at the ever improving quality of cosplay being presented, and hope to see the trend continues next year and beyond. Enjoy!
Hailing from the North (aka Malaysia), this gentleman have seen everything from ninjas to robots within the local cosplay community as a photographer/cosplayer.
Currently, he aims to showcase some of the region's best cosplay to the world, and to excel in other genres of photography as well.
